Here’s to the fair…
Apple dumpling served with vanilla bean ice cream: thinly sliced apples, layered with cinnamon sugar in a light, flaky crust and the ice cream tops it off deliciously. Just might be worth another trip to the fair!
We’re next!
These piglets made my day. I’m sure momma is having second thoughts right now, but we sure enjoyed them.
Newcastle and fried cheese curds!
And a beautiful Oklahoma sunset!
the photos are gorgeous and the food looks too good to eat!!!! suppose there are any calories in that fair food??? LOL
If there are, I don’t want to know!! Ha!ha!
thanks for taking us to the fair
You’re welcome! I hope you enjoyed!
When I looked at the first photo, I thought it was some new-fangled, state-fair confection involving bacon and ice cream. And I was thinking, “Well, bacon does make everything better.” After reading your text, I assume what I thought was bacon was really apples.
Ha! It does look like bacon doesn’t it? Well, considering there was chocolate covered watermelon at the fair this year, it wouldn’t have surprised me. That was some of the sugar mixture that had crusted over. Oh, it was so good!!
A beautiful sunset! Is there a separate state fair in Tulsa than the one near OKC?
Yes, there is a separate fair. I’ve never been to the one in OKC so I imagine ours is probably smaller, maybe hokier, but they always bring in some great food vendors.
Those apple dumplings look amazing. Nice post!
Thank you and they were amazing!! I seriously could have gone back for me and they made them from scratch right there. Definitely yum!!
Great pics! I’m not a huge fan of the state fair but through your eyes it almost looks enjoyable
Well, thanks!! We didn’t go for a couple years, but now we take the kids and visit mainly for them and have a few favorite foods we like to eat and try some new ones. I’m sort of all about the food.
Thats a lovely sunset you got over there
It was sort of picturesque right there with the ferris wheel. I couldn’t pass it up! Thank you!!
Love the Ferris wheel pic!
Thank you!! Can’t have a fair post without at least one!
I used to love going to the country fairs in Nova Scotia in the early fall. Makes great memories. luv the pics.
It sure does…lots of great memories. And the change of season is the best timing, I think. We really enjoyed the day (and the food).
I love state fairs! We recently attended the ArkLaMiss fair. It was the first time we had done so in a long time and i wondered why we had waited so long. Beautiful pictures, Amy. <3
Thank you, Stacy! I didn’t realize there is a tri-state fair! I bet it’s really nice! Where is held?
Cheese curds are something I would love to try. Oozey melty strings of cheese have my name on it!
Beautiful sunset too
We had a nice time and I want some more of those fried cheese curds STAT!
Thank you!
