We’ve been eagerly awaiting the opening of Smokies, Broken Arrow’s newest, locally owned BBQ joint, and finally noshed on their mouth-watering chow this past week. We ordered the combo platter (2 meats, 2 ribs, 2 sides & Texas toast for $12.95), plus an order of onion rings and a side order of smoked bologna. The ribs hooked us at first bite. We had planned to enjoy more ribs earlier this evening, but they are already in high demand and I ordered too late! This smokehouse is the real deal, Oklahoma! And it is worth every minute of the drive to BA.
Beer-battered, crunchy, deeee-licious onion rings, don’t pass ‘em up!!
Combination platter with (those yummy) ribs, brisket, pork and sides
Smokies’ ribs are melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of tantalizing smoky flavor, but without excessive fat and grease. Both the pork and the brisket were also flavorful, moist and tender. The sides were tasty too. Several Oklahoma-crafted BBQ sauces (including some new ones for us) are available at each table and don’t forget to visit their self-serve pickle, onion and pepper bar.
You might be a mom (and a Pinterest addict) if the sight of their chalkboard topped tables and cute little tins of chalk excites you almost as much as the pleasurable aroma of smoked meat. I tried to create some original artwork while we waited for our food (a very short wait), but little fingers were more interested in abstract smears. ![]()

oh so yummy!!!
It was yum!!
Looks yummy! We have BBQ places here in western, NY, but they’re nothing like Oklahoma BBQ!
I loved the flavor of smoked meat and this place serves up the best I’ve tasted so far!! Fresh and seasoned well.
Looks like a whole lot more food than I could eat in one sitting! Great photos!
Thanks! We shared the first time, but the second go around, we ordered a lot more.
I have nominated you for a really Sweet Award come collect it and Enjoy!

I wish I could!! We tried the ribs again the other night and they are definitely the best.
Oh yeah!!! Looks great!
It was very good. As you probably understand, we have quite a few BBQ joints around here, but I’m pretty sure this place handed me my first really, really good BBQ experience.
you do know now that i’m back stateside your post have become a drawing card, my stomach may not be able to resist! broken arrow is now on my ‘to-visit’ list!
Well, there are some great restaurants here, not much of anything else since it’s a suburb, but you could include Tulsa and feast for days!!
If you’re ever here, let me know.
