Are you lonely? Do you need a friend? I read between the lines and found this recipe in the book, How to Win Friends & Influence People. Okay, maybe not. But if Dale Carnegie knew about this recipe, he would have included it. Everywhere I take Rum Freeze, it’s a hit ~ wedding showers, holiday parties, my own backyard…you name it! A family member passed the recipe down to me many years ago and I have her to thank for the passel of people clamoring for a little Rum Freeze. Insert a cheesy rhyme:
Make this yourself and you will see,
However shallow it may be,
You will never again be short on love.
Note: You will need a very large container for mixing and storing! One recipe makes approx. 3-gallons. Making a half-batch at a time, mixing and then transferring to separate containers works or the lid of a cake transporter also makes a great bowl for this.
Rum Freeze
1 12 oz. can frozen lemonade
1 12 oz. can orange juice
4 c. water
1 16oz. can crushed pineapple (with juice)
1 32 oz. can unsweetened pineapple juice (non-frozen)
2 16 oz. containers frozen strawberries in syrup
1 2-liter bottle 7UP
1/5 (750 ml.) white rum
Stir or whisk the juices, berries and rum together. I defrost the berries a bit and then use a spoon to break them up while mixing. Add the 7UP last and stir all ingredients together. Transfer to containers for freezing. Freeze overnight, stirring once. Share or leave it in the freezer, stirring occasionally and sip when desired.
i wish i drank, that looks so yummy and refreshing
I wish you did too. You could probably mix all the other stuff together, just watch it closely in the freezer! All that juice and fruit would be good anyway.
Have a great day!
Perfect on a day like this!
Yes! It was perfect for the weekend. I drank some again today and hit the spot at 90-degrees outside.
you should call these the “friend maker”–think I may give this a whirl–you can never have too many friends or too little rum
For sure! It really is that good.

Amy:
First of all, I want to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog! I want to make this recipe for Erin’s engagement party, but now am confused since I saw the message about ingredients being left off one of the recipes. Now I don’t know which one is complete! Please let me know so I don’t screw this up!
Thanks much!
Sharon
Thank you so much for reading!
The correct recipe is right here, on the blog. When I posted it in a status message on Facebook, I was going off memory and left the pineapple chunks and one of the strawberries out, but just copy what you find here and you’ll have the right one.
This will be great for an engagement party! Enjoy and congratulations to Erin! Have a great day!
Reblogged this on nice fat gurdie and commented:
