Concocted through trial and error, this is our go to (naked) fresh lime margarita recipe. Naked, because we shortened the ingredient list to keep it as fresh as possible. I make the bar syrup using a 1:1 sugar to water, but you can make it sweeter with 2:1. Add a jigger of orange liqueur if desired.
Bar Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
Bring water and sugar to a boil. Stir until completely dissolved. Do not overcook. Remove from heat and allow to cool. I store mine in a Mason jar in the fridge.
Fresh Lime Margaritas
Juice of 3-4 limes
3 1/2 jiggers reposado (silver)
2 – 2 1/2 jiggers bar syrup (may need to adjust amount based on tartness of limes)
Splash of fresh orange juice
Crushed ice
A little water
Add ingredients to shaker and shake well. If desired, add to salted glasses.
ENJOY!
